Many people do not understand the concept of frequent updates when it comes to your website. It is very important to know when and how to update your website content and your website itself.  Not only do many people make the common mishap of updating once every three or four weeks, but some never even update their web designs. There are numerous web designs that have been untouched for years! This not only makes your website seem dead to the users but also to search engines. It is important to keep your web designs alive, or otherwise your site is useless to the users, search engines and even just useless to cyber space!

Why would one not want to update their web designs? Some simple answers to this question are that many are lazy. They don’t feel like taking the time out of their day to upload or update things onto their sites. Also, many people think that updating their web designs will take hours on end and never be finished in time for them to eat dinner! Little do they know, they are wrong.

Why should people update their web designs weekly if not daily? It is imperative for all web site owners to update their site for their users. If they take the time to search for your name, you might as well take the time to give back to them, by updating simple things around the site. The updating process is in fact easy and less time consuming than most people think. From a simple blog post, to a color re-adjustment, updating is fast and easy. As well as giving the users something to look forward to, it is important to give the search engines something to look forward to as well. They are constantly on the search for web sites that are being looked at frequently and updated constantly.

In turn, the more you update, the more your site will be found. It wants to be found! Do not deprive your site of what it wants!

Search Engine Optimization, otherwise known as SEO, is a simple process in which Search Engines hunt for updated websites. They make sure to find the ones with the most traffic and the best qualities. This creates a spot higher on the search engine list for your web design. For example is a search engine sees that your web page has been updated three times every day for the past week, it will prioritize you on the search list. Thereby furthering your chances of making it to the first page search results.

Clearly, updating is important. Not only do you help yourself but you help others. It all works together as a team. You scratch your users backs and they will scratch yours. Same goes with the search engines. There is no “I” in “Team”. Together you can win the game and beat the system!

Good luck!
